    Description

    Product Description

    The SCD-40 is a true CO₂ sensing module that directly measures carbon dioxide concentration in ambient air using photoacoustic sensing technology. Unlike gas sensors that estimate CO₂ levels from VOC readings, this module measures actual CO₂ concentration (PPM), providing reliable and repeatable results.

    In addition to CO₂, the module also integrates temperature and relative humidity sensing, making it a compact 3-in-1 environmental sensor. Compared to earlier CO₂ sensor designs, the SCD-40 offers similar measurement quality in a much smaller footprint, making it suitable for embedded and space-constrained projects.

    The sensor communicates via I2C and is mounted on a STEMMA QT / Qwiic compatible breakout board, allowing solder-free connections and easy daisy-chaining with other I2C devices.

    • CO₂ Measurement Range: 400 – 2000 ppm

    • CO₂ Accuracy: ±(50 ppm + 5% of reading)

    • Temperature Measurement: Integrated sensor

    • Humidity Measurement: Integrated sensor

    • I2C Address: Fixed (factory set)

    • Operating Voltage: 3.3V – 5V

    • Connectors: 4-pin JST-SH (STEMMA QT / Qwiic compatible)

    • Onboard Features:

      • Low-noise 3.3V voltage regulator

      • I2C level shifting for both 3.3V and 5V systems

    A stable, low-ripple power supply is recommended for best CO₂ accuracy. The onboard regulator ensures consistent and reliable sensor operation.
