Product Description

This analog infrared distance sensor module is a compact and reliable solution for measuring distances in the range of 10 cm to 150 cm (4″ to 60″). It is well suited for robotics, obstacle detection, automation, and interactive projects where non-contact distance measurement is required.

The sensor uses infrared triangulation, which makes it more resistant to interference from ambient light compared to many basic IR sensors. Distance information is provided as a single analog voltage output, making it easy to interface with microcontrollers using an ADC pin or with comparators for threshold-based detection.

The module updates its output automatically at approximately 60 Hz (every ~16 ms), allowing for responsive real-time measurements. An enable (EN) pin is included, which can be driven low to turn off the IR emitter and place the sensor into a low-power standby mode. By default, the sensor is enabled via an onboard pull-up resistor.

This version is configured for 5V operation, offering a larger output voltage swing and improved resolution across the full distance range.
