The GY-906 MLX90614 BAA is a non-contact infrared temperature sensor module designed to accurately measure object temperature without physical contact. It integrates a high-resolution 17-bit ADC and an internal DSP, delivering excellent accuracy, stability, and noise immunity. This makes it ideal for applications such as body temperature measurement, motion detection, industrial temperature monitoring, and smart automation systems.
The sensor has a 90° field of view (FOV) and reports the average temperature of all objects within that area. For best accuracy, a measuring distance of approximately 1 cm is recommended. The MLX90614 comes factory calibrated across wide temperature ranges, ensuring reliable measurements straight out of the box.
Thanks to its breakout board design, the module is plug-and-play compatible with popular platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP8266, ESP32, and NodeMCU. A large ecosystem of tutorials, libraries, and example codes is available online, making integration quick and beginner-friendly.
The MLX90614 provides two output methods:

Both interfaces are simple to use and well supported across common microcontroller platforms.
