When utilizing the USB interface for power supply, it is recommended to use the Type-C interface due to its higher current carrying capacity, capable of passing up to 5A. This versatile module is suitable for various devices such as routers, cameras, and development boards.
Featuring seamless power switching, the module ensures uninterrupted power supply by seamlessly switching between external power and battery power. It supports connection to a 18650 lithium battery via the welded battery box on the back, and it can also be wired to connect other lithium batteries.
The UPS-15W functionality enables smooth switching between external power and dual battery power, making it suitable for uninterrupted power supply schemes for low-power DC equipment, meters, and devices that require self-starting and self-charging after power failures.
This module offers output voltages of 12V, and customization for other voltages is possible. It combines four practical functions: lithium battery charging, lithium battery protection, boost output, and UPS switching.
The module includes a two-color LED indicator that displays the charging status, with a green light indicating a full charge, automatically stopping the charging process. The Type-C interface allows for the passage of large currents.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
UPS Function: When the module is powered, it supplies power to the load directly through the boost circuit while simultaneously charging the lithium battery. In the event of a power outage, the battery power path automatically activates to supply power to the load via the boost circuit.
Boost Circuit: The module features a BOST boost circuit capable of peak power up to 20W and rated power up to 15W. It incorporates a 12A high-current MOS and achieves an efficiency of up to 96%. The module's static power consumption is 25mA, and it provides optional 12V output. Recommended load capacity is below 15W:12V output (1.2A current).
Lithium Battery Protection: The module includes protection mechanisms for overshoot, over-discharge, overtemperature, and overcurrent. In the event of a misoperation or short circuit, if the protection state is not outputting, 5V charging will automatically activate to resume output.
Connection and Ports: The module features a USB port and standard 5V+ and 5V- external power supply ports, of which one can be selected. It also provides USP and UPS-labeled output interfaces. The 18650 lithium battery is connected to the welded battery box, although other 3.7V lithium batteries can also be used.
Energy Saving: To reduce power consumption, it is recommended to remove the output indicator after completing all tests, which can lower the circuit's current consumption by more than 10mA without affecting normal output.
Operation and Troubleshooting: During operation, the module may enter a protection state and stop outputting due to various reasons (such as incorrect touch or connection). To resolve the issue, the board's charging port can be connected to a 5V power supply for charging, and the module can be reactivated by powering it on again.
