The VL53L1X is an advanced Time of Flight (ToF) laser distance sensor capable of high-accuracy long-range measurement. It uses a 940 nm invisible VCSEL infrared laser and integrated SPAD (single photon avalanche diode) receiver array to measure the distance to objects with high precision.
This sensor can accurately detect targets from 4 cm up to 4 meters, even in varying ambient lighting conditions. It features fast measurement rates up to 50 Hz, a 27 degree field of view, and supports region-of-interest (ROI) customization, allowing smaller or multiple detection zones.
The VL53L1X is ideal for robots, drones, gesture detection, and proximity measurement applications. It communicates over a standard I2C interface and is compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers.
