The MCP4725 is an easy-to-use 12-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) that allows a microcontroller to generate true analog voltage output using a simple I2C interface. This breakout board converts digital values into smooth analog voltages, making it ideal for applications where PWM is not suitable, such as audio signals, waveform generation, adjustable reference voltages, and analog control systems.
Product Description
The MCP4725 is an easy-to-use 12-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) that allows a microcontroller to generate true analog voltage output using a simple I2C interface. This breakout board converts digital values into smooth analog voltages, making it ideal for applications where PWM is not suitable, such as audio signals, waveform generation, adjustable reference voltages, and analog control systems.
The output voltage is rail-to-rail and directly proportional to the supply voltage. When powered at 3.3V, the output range is 0–3.3V, and when powered at 5V, the output range is 0–5V. The onboard EEPROM allows the last output value to be stored so that the DAC restores the same voltage automatically after power-up.
This module includes a STEMMA QT / Qwiic compatible JST-SH 4-pin connector, enabling solder-free, plug-and-play connection with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32, and other I2C-enabled platforms. Standard 0.1-inch header pins are also provided for breadboard or custom wiring.
