The MQ316 Mouth Smell Sensor is a semiconductor-based gas sensor designed for detecting gases associated with mouth odor, such as ethanol (C₂H₅OH), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), and methyl mercaptan (CH₃SH). With its compact size and high sensitivity, this sensor is widely used in breath odor detectors, portable alcohol testers, and air-quality monitoring devices.
Product Description:
The MQ316 Mouth Smell Sensor is a semiconductor-based gas sensor designed for detecting gases associated with mouth odor, such as ethanol (C₂H₅OH), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), and methyl mercaptan (CH₃SH). With its compact size and high sensitivity, this sensor is widely used in breath odor detectors, portable alcohol testers, and air-quality monitoring devices.
In clean air, the sensor exhibits low conductivity. When exposed to target gases, its conductivity increases with concentration. A simple circuit can convert this conductivity change into an output signal proportional to gas concentration.
Key Features:
Target Gases: C₂H₅OH (ethanol), H₂S (hydrogen sulfide), CH₃SH (methyl mercaptan)
Detection Range: 5 – 200 ppm (ethanol)
High Sensitivity: Quick response to breath-related gases
Compact Design: Only φ9.4 × 8 mm, easy to integrate
Low Power Consumption: Heater power ≤150 mW
Stable Performance: Reliable operation in portable applications
