Introducing the Dust Sensor - an optical sensing system designed for detecting airborne dust particles using an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a phototransistor. The diode and phototransistor are diagonally arranged to effectively capture reflected light from dust in the air. Notably, this sensor is highly efficient in detecting very fine particles, including those from cigarette smoke. It also possesses the capability to distinguish between smoke and house dust based on the pulse pattern of the output voltage.

Description

Introducing the Dust Sensor - an optical sensing system designed for detecting airborne dust particles using an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a phototransistor. The diode and phototransistor are diagonally arranged to effectively capture reflected light from dust in the air. Notably, this sensor is highly efficient in detecting very fine particles, including those from cigarette smoke. It also possesses the capability to distinguish between smoke and house dust based on the pulse pattern of the output voltage.

This sensor is equipped with a PM2.5 Adapter module, ensuring seamless integration with Arduino for easy connectivity. The key features of the Dust Sensor are as follows:
