The Raspberry Pi AI Kit combines a Hailo 8L AI accelerator with the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+, delivering up to 13 tera-operations per second (TOPS) of neural network inferencing performance for the Raspberry Pi 5. The compact Hailo 8L module, in an M.2 2242 form factor, comes pre-installed in the HAT+, connecting to the Raspberry Pi 5 through its PCIe 2.0 interface. Once installed, Raspberry Pi OS automatically detects the module, making the NPU available for AI workloads without additional setup. The kit is fully integrated into Raspberry Pi’s software ecosystem, with rpicam-apps supporting hardware-accelerated post-processing tasks out of the box. Designed for seamless use, the kit comes with a thermal pad, stacking GPIO header, and mounting hardware, making it easy to install alongside the Raspberry Pi Active Cooler.
