The PCT2075 Temperature Sensor is a high-precision digital temperature sensor designed as a code-compatible drop-in replacement for the widely used LM75. While maintaining the same basic behavior and register structure, the PCT2075 improves measurement precision by using an 11-bit ADC, compared to the LM75’s 9-bit resolution. This results in smoother, more accurate temperature readings, especially useful for monitoring small temperature changes.

A major advantage of the PCT2075 is its three-state address pin design (high, low, floating). This allows up to 27 sensors on a single I2C bus, far exceeding the 8-device limit of the LM75. This makes the sensor ideal for multi-point temperature monitoring applications such as thermal mapping, equipment monitoring, or distributed sensing systems.
The sensor continuously measures temperature and provides programmable over-temperature threshold and alert functionality. When the measured temperature exceeds a user-defined limit, the ALERT pin can be triggered, allowing hardware-level warnings without constant I2C polling. Measurement behavior and alert modes can be configured through standard I2C registers.
The breakout board includes all required support circuitry and uses the STEMMA QT / Qwiic form factor, enabling solder-free connections using JST-SH cables. It works seamlessly with 3.3 V or 5 V logic systems and is suitable for microcontrollers and single-board computers.
