The MPL3115A2 I2C Barometric Pressure & Altitude Sensor Module is a cost-effective, precision sensor developed by Freescale for applications requiring accurate altitude and barometric data. It offers an impressive 1.5 Pa resolution, corresponding to an altitude precision of 0.3 meters, making it ideal for drone navigation, weather tracking, and IoT environmental systems. Unlike traditional sensors such as BMP180 or BMP280, the MPL3115A2 includes a built-in altimeter engine, removing the need for software-based calibration. It operates over I2C communication and includes two programmable interrupt pins for low-power, event-based operation.
