The digital output can be adjusted using the onboard potentiometer. When the ambient light level crosses the preset threshold, the D0 pin switches between HIGH and LOW, making this module suitable for automatic light-controlled switching applications.
Detects ambient brightness and light intensity
Adjustable sensitivity via onboard potentiometer
Supports Analog Output (A0) and Digital Output (D0)
Operating voltage: 3.3V – 5V
Uses LM393 comparator for stable performance
Power indicator LED (red)
Digital output indicator LED (green)
Mounting hole for easy installation
Compact PCB size
VCC – 3.3V to 5V power input
GND – Ground
D0 (DO) – Digital output (TTL HIGH / LOW)
A0 (AO) – Analog voltage output
The module uses a photoresistor (LDR) to sense light intensity.
When the light level reaches the user-defined threshold:
D0 outputs HIGH or LOW depending on the setting.
Digital Output (D0):
Connect directly to a microcontroller to detect light changes
Can directly drive a relay module to form a light-activated switch
Analog Output (A0):
Connect to an ADC pin to obtain more precise light intensity values
Operating Voltage: 3.3V – 5V
Output Type: Analog (A0) and Digital (D0)
Comparator IC: LM393
PCB Size: Approx. 3.0 × 1.6 cm
Automatic light control systems
Day/Night detection
Smart home and IoT projects
Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi projects
